Šmarna gora in romarska cerkev

Vrh Šmarne gore je bil poseljen že v prazgodovini. Najdba rimske zapestnice na vrhu Šmarne gore in arheološko najdišče rimskih grobov v Šmartnem pod Šmarno goro dopuščajo domnevo, da so bili na njej tudi Rimljani, ki so jo imenovali Mons Cetius.
